Serge Damian
CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER

We lead with integrity, grounded in strong governance and compliance that protects our values, and powers sustainable growth.
Integrity is fundamental in our hearts, driven by clear ethical standards, strict compliance, and a zero-tolerance approach for corruption.
We safeguard our values and ambitions through strong leadership, transparent oversight, and clear rules.
We govern for the future with disciplined risk management and accountability that keep us resilient, credible, and ready for the future.

We are optimising how we manage our environmental impacts, addressing emissions, energy, water, waste, and hazardous substances as we build a clear path to long-term decarbonisation.
Pollution is managed responsibly across all our sites through strict legal compliance and diligent controls. We recognise the environmental footprint of our operations, therefore compliance with all environmental laws and permit conditions is a baseline requirement at every site. Building on that, we are continuously strengthening group-wide standards and controls to consistently manage emissions to air, soil, and water.
Water use and discharge are tightly managed and continuously improved. Water is a critical resource, and its use and discharge are rigorously managed in accordance with local regulations. We continue to enhance water tracking and wastewater management across the Group to spot hotspots and drive targeted actions that improve efficiency and protect water quality.
Waste is managed responsibly, with a focus on prevention, reuse, and recycling. We manage waste in compliance with relevant regulations and site-specific requirements, with particular attention to the handling of hazardous materials. Through continuous improvement, we aim to minimize waste wherever possible by preventing its generation, and by enhancing reuse and recycling practices.
We strive to reduce energy use by identifying priority sites, improving efficiency, and exploring suitable low carbon energy options over time. Energy is a major factor in both our carbon footprint and operational resilience. As part of full Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas accounting, we are building a clearer group-wide view of energy consumption and associated emissions. These insights will guide a dedicated renewable energy and energy efficiency strategy, enabling us identify priority sites, enhance performance, explore and implement suitable low-carbon options over time.
Hazardous substances are handled under defined procedures and in line with regulatory requirements. We manage hazardous substances with clear responsibilities and procedures aligned with applicable chemical and safety regulations. Our priority is safe storage, handling, and use to protect people and the environment. To support this, we aim to strengthen our group-wide standards to ensure hazardous materials are managed consistently across all operations.
We are strengthening greenhouse gas accounting across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 to create a robust foundation for effective decarbonisation over time. Reduction of our carbon footprint and building a clear path to our long-term decarbonisation are our key priorities. CSG will commit to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the SBTi. These company-wide targets will be developed using 2025 as our baseline year and will cover both our own decarbonisation efforts and relevant supply chain emissions. We plan to submit these targets to the SBTi for validation within the required timeframe. Later on, we aim to define additional sustainability targets, all based on the same 2025 baseline.
We are building a stronger foundation for climate and environmental management, from better emissions data and governance to clearer responsibilities at our sites.
As an industrial group, we aim to protect our heritage by gradually improving our use of energy, water, and materials, in line with evolving regulations, findings and stakeholder expectations.
We are developing science-based climate targets, a renewable energy and efficiency strategy, and value-chain decarbonisation programmes to credibly and transparently reduce our environmental footprint over time.
