Press releases
The Interschutz 2026 trade fair, focused on fire protection and rescue technology, will take place from June 1 to 6, 2026, in Hanover, Germany. Tatra Trucks will once again participate in the event. At its 280 m² exhibition stand, the company will showcase four firefighting vehicles built on Tatra Force chassis. Additional firefighting special vehicles based on Tatra chassis will also be exhibited at Interschutz by manufacturers of firefighting and special-purpose equipment, including Austria’s Rosenbauer, Poland’s Bocar, and Czech companies Kobit, THT Polička, and Excalibur Army. Tatra has long been a traditional supplier of chassis for firefighting vehicles and special equipment. The company supplies large numbers of such vehicles to the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, as well as to rescue units in other European countries including Germany, Slovakia, Poland, and Austria, and also to the German armed forces.

The first exhibit at the Tatra stand this year will be the Tatra Force CAS 20 4x4 wildland firefighting vehicle, designed for operations in difficult terrain and extreme conditions during wildfires. The vehicle is built on the third-generation Tatra Force chassis featuring a central backbone tube and independently suspended swinging half-axles, ensuring exceptional off-road mobility and durability. The four-door crew cab complies with ROPS standards and is equipped with a steel roof and a glazed emergency escape hatch. Power is provided by an air-cooled Tatra T3D-928 Euro 5 V8 engine delivering 340 kW. The firefighting superstructure includes a 4,200-liter water tank and a 252-liter foam agent tank, equipped with a THT PKA 2000–400 pump and two water cannons — one mounted on the roof and the other integrated into the front bumper. The vehicle also features a high-pressure hose reel with a 60-meter hose, self-protection spray nozzles against radiant heat, and a hydraulic winch with a pulling force of 38 kN. Additional equipment includes a central tire inflation system (CTIS), LED lighting, EBS and ELC braking assistance systems, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a CO₂ sensor in the cab.

The second vehicle on display will be the armored multifunctional firefighting tanker Tatra Force CZVS 40 8x8. This vehicle, with steering on the first, second, and fourth axles, is designed for operations in extremely hazardous environments with a high risk of explosions. The crew can operate the vehicle either directly from the armored cab or remotely from a safe location outside the vehicle. The four-door, four-seat armored cab provides STANAG 4569 Level 2a/b ballistic protection. The vehicle is intended for tasks such as reconnaissance in extremely dangerous fire zones, evacuation of personnel from hazardous areas, or firefighting interventions in facilities with a high risk of explosions, such as ammunition depots. Tatra Trucks has already delivered this type of vehicle to the Czech Army’s military firefighters in cooperation with partners THT Polička, Tatra Defence, and RCE Systems. The special vehicle is powered by a 373 kW Cummins ISM11 500 engine, has a gross vehicle weight of 42 tons, and carries an 8,000-liter water tank and a 480-liter foam agent tank.

The third displayed vehicle will be the Tatra Force CAS 30 6x6 firefighting tanker, a type that has also recently entered service with the Czech Army’s military firefighters. The vehicle is built on a Tatra Force 6x6 chassis with a central backbone tube and independently suspended swinging half-axles. It is equipped with wheel hub reductions and differential locks, while the rear steering axle improves maneuverability in demanding terrain. The cab is protected by metal grilles over the windshield and side windows, and the crew has access to an integrated thermal imaging camera for improved situational awareness during operations. An electric cable winch is mounted behind the front bumper, and the vehicle features a remotely controlled front-mounted water cannon and a roof-mounted cannon with adjustable flow rate and spray pattern. The vehicle is powered by an air-cooled Tatra T3D-928 Euro 5 V8 engine producing 325 kW, paired with an Allison 4500 automatic transmission. It carries 8,000 liters of water and 480 liters of foam agent, with a total vehicle weight of 26 tons.

The fourth exhibit will also be a firefighting tanker based on the Tatra Force 6x6 chassis, equipped with a rear steering axle and a superstructure from THT Polička. The vehicle was designed according to the visual and operational requirements of German fire brigades. It uses the third-generation Tatra Force cab, whose design won the Red Dot Design Award, with emphasis on safety, ergonomics, and operational readiness. The cab has a 1+3 seating arrangement, and the vehicle is powered by a 291 kW Cummins L9 Euro 6 engine. The vehicle has a gross weight of 27 tons, a maximum speed of 100 km/h, and a fording depth of 1,200 mm. Equipment includes central tire inflation, LED lighting, EBS and ELC electronic braking assistance systems, and a Sepson hydraulic winch with a 6-ton pulling force. The firefighting superstructure includes a composite water tank with a capacity of 8,500 liters, a stainless-steel foam tank with a capacity of 510 liters, and a pump with an output of 3,000 l/min, expandable to 4,000 l/min in low-pressure configuration.

Interschutz is the world’s largest showcase of services, technologies, and products related to fire protection, rescue services, civil protection, disaster relief, and safety. The trade fair’s history dates back more than 70 years, originally beginning as an exhibition focused primarily on firefighting equipment under the name “The Red Rooster.” Over time, it evolved into the leading global trade fair for firefighters, rescue personnel, and civil protection specialists, and this year it carries the motto “Safeguarding Tomorrow.”

The exhibition covers firefighting technology, extinguishing systems, vehicles and equipment, technical support systems, measuring and detection technologies, security technologies, medical and emergency equipment, as well as innovative disaster protection solutions. It provides manufacturers, distributors, and industry professionals with a comprehensive overview of the market and current technological trends. The previous Interschutz 2022 edition welcomed more than 1,296 exhibitors from around 50 countries, presenting across more than 84,000 m² of exhibition space and attracting 95,000 visitors. The 2026 edition is expected to be even larger, with more than 1,600 exhibitors from 53 countries occupying over 114,500 m² of exhibition space.
